What kind of warranty do you offer on your finished work?

We follow the St. Louis Home Builder’s Association Guidelines. Our touch-up and warranty policies are as follows: Nationwide Drywall & Painting, Inc. includes one touch-up on the new residence at the time of builder’s choice. This work is normally done after installation of finish floor coverings and just before closing. Touch-up work is normal damage caused by other trades during their work. Any work done after closing is not touch-up, it is either warranty work or an extra charge. Damage done after closing (i.e. marks, gouges, etc. caused by furniture, pets, children, or other) is not covered under this touch-up policy and is not warranty work. Each residence will receive a quart of wall touch-up paint so that the owner may take care of these items. Warranty work will be done for one year from the date of our invoice. This work will cover defective materials and/or workmanship only. Many people wait towards the end of the warranty period before having this kind of work done, since it is a one-time return. Responsibilities of both parties are covered in this excerpt from the drywall and painting section of the St. Louis Home Builder’s Associations Guidelines.

What choice of paint finishes do you offer and do they differ in price?

We recommend flat latex paint for most wall and ceiling applications, antique white flat latex wall paint is included in the base bid price. Washable flat latex paint is an option. We do not recommend semi-gloss paint under any circumstances since it is impossible to touch up semi-gloss paint without repainting an entire wall. There is a wide selection of colors available, there is an additional cost for using colors other than our base bid.

When warranty repairs are necessary, will you touch up with my paint if I painted after the closing of the house or finish of the job?

We will make covered repairs and use original paint to touch-up the repair. Regarding the areas that the homeowner has overpainted with their paint, the homeowner will be responsible for using self-provided paint to touch-up the repair themselves.
